The Micron 5400 PRO 480 GB SATA SSD (model MTFDDAK480TGA-1BC1ZABYYR) is a data-center grade, 2.5″ form-factor (7mm height) SATA III (6 Gb/s) solid state drive designed for enterprise read-intensive workloads. It uses Micron’s 176-layer 3D TLC NAND technology and is built as part of the 5400 series — described by Micron as “the world’s first 176-layer data center SATA SSD”
With sequential read speeds up to ~540 MB/s and sequential writes up to ~520 MB/s, it supports virtualized workloads, boot drives in servers, NAS systems and general-purpose data-center SATA deployments.
Micron claims the 5400 series offers “50% better reliability (MTTF) and 50% greater endurance than the other leading SATA SSDs”.
